Obamanomics Not a Mystery to James Madison

The President and his ideological fellow travelers blame everything from George W. Bush to automation for the stubbornly anemic recovery under Obamnomics.  Of course, we all know Obamanomics for what it is: collectivist policies that have been tried and failed hundreds of times over for over a century.

So, it should be no wonder when businesses refuse to expand or invest in new ventures with all the fiscal and regulatory uncertainties (see ObamaCare, volumes of EPA, NLRB, etc. rules...) that lay ahead.

And perhaps the most embarassing for the economic ignoramuses that are the progressives, our founding father James Madison realized over two centuries ago that these types of policies would not work when he penned in the Federalist 62:
"What prudent merchant will hazard his fortunes in any new branch of commerce when he knows not but that his plans may be rendered unlawful before they can be executed? What farmer or manufacturer will lay himself out for the encouragement given to any particular cultivation or establishment, when he can have no assurance that his preparatory labors and advances will not render him a victim to an inconstant government?"

If only progressives had a tiny fraction of wisdom exhibited by the likes of Madison and Jefferson, we might have a worthy recovery 32 months after the end of the recession and not be looking down the barrel of fiscal ruin today.

A Sad Excuse For a President

Just as I think I have seen all that I am going to see from the Disgrace that occupies the White House, he keeps on upping the ante.  In his latest speech in Iowa yesterday, the shameless occupier of the presidency further painted himself to be the class warring Marxist wannabe that he is.

Obama said: "too many of my Republican friends in Congress are standing in the way. They either want to do nothing at all or they want to double down on the same failed policies that got us into this mess. They want to cut more taxes – especially for the wealthiest Americans. They want to cut back more of the rules we put in place for banks and financial institutions."

Mr. President, if I must call you that, who and what exactly caused the "mess" you keep on mentioning?  The Republicans who were mere co-conspirators with Democrats in laying the foundations of the housing crisis?  As to what, are you referring to the so-called Bush tax cuts to the wealthy?  You mean the measly $4.5 billion a year in tax breaks that go to the top 1% of the earners?  Now, we know that you are incapable of rational thought like all progressive collectivists, and an economic illiterate to boot, but are you at least capable of performing third grade math?  Even the static figure of $4.5 billion equals little over 0.1% of the federal budget and 0.3% of the federal deficit.  Scoring it dynamically would likely impact the federal deficit by half of that figure.  Are you seriously saying that allowing people who earned it to keep an additional tiny portion of their earnings equivalent to one or two tenths of one percent of the budget deficit is why we are stuck in doldrums?

If $4.5 billion is the magic bullet, then what does that make your ill conceived loan guarantee program to your green energy cronies to the tune of over $22 billion, most of which has been flushed down the toilet already?

As for rules, are you referring to Dodd-Frank fiasco that is serving as a road block to lending by lending institutions, or its institutionalization of anti free market 'too-big-to-fail concept'?

Later in the speech, Obama continued: "risk-takers and investors should be rewarded, he said. But their motives are not job creation."
“The people who work in these firms will tell you that’s not their goal,” Obama said, explaining that the goal for private equity companies, such as Bain, the company Romney co-founded, is “maximizing short-term gains for your investors.”
“There may be value for that type of experience but it’s not in the White House,” the president said, where the goal is “strong and sustainable, broad-based growth.”

First of all, again being an economic illiterate who has zero real world experience in business, you must be called out for fallacies that you spread.  No business in the world has as its goal job creation.  Profit is the only reason entrepreneurs go in to business.  Jobs are simply the by-product of the investments entrepeneurs make in pursuit of those profits.  Without profit, only government can survive, therefore what you are really saying is that the job of a president is to expand the state - not the private sector.  By such statements, you are not even coming out of the Marxist closet as you never were in it to begin with for those of us whose eyes and ears have been wide open!

In his remarks, Obama contrasted the vision he has for the country with Romney’s by talking about his desire to make sure everyone gets a fair shot and is playing by the same rules. He said he wants to reform the tax code, and he said his plan to reform Medicare is not to privatize it.
“We’re going to reform it by reducing the actual costs of health care,” he said.

Mr. Obama, I've got news for you.  In life, everyone does not get a fair shot.  We all have opportunities here in America, but we do not all have the same skills, drive, intelligence, and financial and other resources that allow people to be successful.  That is a fact that you and your emotionally driven progressive fellow travellers will never comprehend.

As for Medicare, a ponzi medical insurance scheme can no more stand than a ponzi retirement scheme.  CBO report after CBO report has hammered the point that medical costs will only go up as a result of Obamacare, even including phantom savings which are a contradiction since the bill takes half a trillion away from Medicare to make the whole cost of the bill seem smaller.  But this sleight of hand is standard operating procedure for this crooked, immoral bunch as we recently witnessed in their deception about spending under them.  Despite the left leaning Politfacts three pinnochios given to Rep. Pelosi for alleging the same, the regime goes on undeterred.  The fact that $400 billion omnibus spending bill and the $825 billion stimulus that were signed by Obama himself within the first three months of his disastrous presidency is lost on progressive intellect.  It is these $1.2 trillion that caused the FY2009 budget deficit to explode - not the original Bush budget!  And then, the nerve to take this inflated amount and use it as your base spending so that you can claim to be fiscally responsible is simply mind numbing.  No, Mr President, although your brain dead followers are, the rest of us are not that stupid.

Every single speech given by Obama is full of class war rhetoric and outright lies so outrageous that even his liberal allies have been distancing themselves from as in his hypocritical attacks on Bain Capital despite his own dispicable national co-chair of re-election being a partner in a private equity company.  No, Mr. Pena is not dispicable because of his work, which is salvaging companies tha are in trouble (occasionally requiring laying off employees - a better alternative to ALL the employees losing their jobs if the private equity firm was not involved), but rather he is dispicable for going along with this Marxist-like re-election strategy.

A president is supposed to be a uniter.  The divider-in-chief is not only a union boss-like thug and a shameless, immoral liar, but a sad excuse for a president any which way you look at it.

November can't get here soon enough!

Obama 'Firsts' List

As much as I would have liked to take credit for compiling the following list, it comes from Tim Powers via the Western Journalism site.  As comprehensive as it is, I believe it misses a few 'firsts', which I will add at the end of it.  Enjoy, although that seems like a gross perversion of the word in this instance.

Whoever said that Obama hasn’t acomplished anything in his first term?

  • First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner.
  • First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in.
  • First President to preside over a cut to the credit-rating of the United States.
  • First President to violate the War Powers Act.
  • First President to be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
  • First President to defy a Federal Judge’s court order to cease implementing the Health Care Reform Law.
  • First President to require all Americans to purchase a product from a third party, a violation of the U.S. Constitution.
  • First President to spend a trillion dollars on ‘shovel-ready’ jobs when there was no such thing as ‘shovel-ready’ jobs.
  • First President to recommend changing our National Anthem as it portrays and promotes violence and is warlike in its theme.
  • First President to cancel the National Day of Prayer Breakfast and activities.
  • First President to initiate a Cash for Clunkers Program to clean up exhaust that adds to global warming, then extended it because it was so popular — wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.
  • First President to abrogate bankruptcy law to turn over control of companies to his union supporters.
  • First President to bypass Congress and implement the Dream Act through executive fiat.
  • First President to order a secret amnesty program that stopped the deportation of illegal immigrants across the U.S., including those with criminal convictions.
  • First President to demand a company hand over $20 billion to one of his political appointees.
  • First President to terminate America’s ability to put a man in space.
  • First President to have a law signed by an auto-pen without being present.
  • First President to arbitrarily declare an existing law unconstitutional and refuse to enforce it.
  • First President to threaten insurance companies if they publicly spoke out on the reasons for their rate increases.
  • First President to tell a major manufacturing company which state they are allowed to locate a factory in.
  • First President to file lawsuits against the states he swore an oath to protect (AZ, WI, OH, IN).
  • First President to withdraw an existing coal permit that had been properly issued years ago.
  • First President to fire an inspector general of Americorps for catching one of his friends in a corruption case.
  • First President to appoint 45 czars to replace elected officials in his office.
  • First President to golf 73 separate times in his first two and a half years in office, 90 to date.
  • First President to pledge complete transparency while campaigning, then hide his medical, educational, and travel records.
  • First President to win a Nobel Peace Prize for doing NOTHING to earn it.
  • First President to go on multiple global ‘apology tours’.
  • First President to go on 17 lavish vacations, including date nights and Wednesday evening White House parties for his friends; paid for by the taxpayer.
  • First President to have 22 personal servants (taxpayer funded) for his wife.
  • First President to keep a dog trainer on retainer for $102,000 a year at taxpayer expense.
  • First President to repeat the Holy Qur’an and tells us that the early morning Islamic call to worship is the most beautiful sound on earth.
  • Now it is up to us Freedom-loving Americans to see to it that he is voted out after his FIRST term. May God bless America again. Stay safe, and be aware of your surroundings.

Now, as to the additions I came up with:
  • First President to ordering the alteration of scientists' findings in order to justify a drilling moratorium.
  • First President to recognize gay marriages as being equal to heterosexual marriages.
  • First President to threaten bankers by stating that he is the only person standing between them and the angry public.
  • First President to nominate Supreme Court justices who openly believe in the superiority of other nations' constitutions than ours.
  • First President to have his literary agent promote him as being Kenyan born for 17 years and then claim he was born in Hawaii.
  • First President to allow not one but two soldiers go to jail for refusing to follow orders of a commander-in-chief, then release a fraudulent birth certificate that is covered up by the media until Sherriff Joe Arpaio does his own investigation (and is still covered up to this day).
  • First President to bow to the Saudi king.
  • First President to back stab allies including Honduras, Colombia, Israel, Poland, Czech Republic, Taiwan, Iranian protesters among others, while embracing Hugo Chavez and every other tin horn dictator that shares his belief in Marxism.
  • First President who displays a troublesome narcissistic egomaniacal psychosis.
  • First President to accumulate $5.1 trillion in debt in 3 years.
  • First President to ignore court subpoenas on everything from his eligibility to congressional. investigations of Fast and Furious and other scandals.
  • First President who was the editor of Harvard Law Review and a supposed constitutional scholar, but does not know basic case law.
....and the list goes on and on.

Yellow or Simply Lap Dog Journalism?

We live in strange times.   Everything from the president’s strange composite girl friend at college to his constantly evolving position on gay marriage seems to be met with journalistic indifference.  In fact, we are told of the virtues of president's evolution from position to position and back by the same press which was eager to point out Romney's inconsistent policy positions on everything from abortion to healthcare throughout his brief political career.

Along the lines of presidential evolution, journalism also seems to be evolving. We all knew that journalism was dead after the journalists’ refusal to vet the current resident of the White House.  Or maybe the metaphor should have been that it is evolving in to a composite with the Democrat party.

So, I was not surprised a bit when the media jumped all over the nearly 50 year old tale of Romney the bully cutting the hair of a presumed gay student while at high school.  Washington Post, that beacon of award winning journalism, ran a two page, 5,000 word article they had been working on for a year – never mind that the article apparently was not consistent with the account given by the now deceased victim’s family!

Call it the ‘May Surprise’ since the Prez forced their hands to release it earlier than the Post editors would have liked – like sometime in October!  ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and other news providers were not as shameless but still could not resist making the story the lead.

Yes, the same media which somehow couldn't locate the story of Obama bullying a defenseless black girl less than 30 years ago - in his own words, buried in the pages of his ego-maniacal book - but somehow managed to locate a nearly half a century old story on Romney that they managed to twist like a pretzel to fit their desired narrative!

Yes, the very same media which sees inconsequential the very real stories of a president whose well documented associations with leftist radicals span nearly half a century, or whose in office scandals from Pigford to the shenanigans going on everywhere from the DOJ to DOE are enough to make the most corrupt politicians in our history blush, or for that matter his disregard for rule of law as it applies to the Seperation of Powers clause in the U.S. Constitution.

The same news media who would not ask the most basic questions of the current president, let alone investigate for a whole year any event or person from his past, is doing its part to re-elect our dear leader.

No, this is not simply yellow journalism for sake of creating sensation in order to boost their sagging circulations or ratings.  This is what should be termed lap dog journalism - a prime example of journalistic malpractice our shameless media partakes in on a daily basis.  No wonder why their favorability rating is as low as those of politicians!
